LANSING, MI — A free bounce house will be available for use on the grounds of the Lansing Elections Office, 701 W. Jolly Rd, during the first weekend of early voting, Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26 from 10am – 3pm to highlight and make voting a more family friendly activity.
To make this activity available for free, the Clerk’s Office has partnered with the Parks and Recreation Department to have the free bounce house running if the weather permits.
“I am excited to have a bounce house available to make voting a family event,” said Lansing City Clerk Chris Swope. “Civic engagement can be fun and family friendly while citizens are taking on the serious responsibility of selecting our leaders and having their say on proposals.”

In a similar experience to Election Day, early voters can feed their own ballot into the tabulator. Results will not be known by anyone until after 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Please note that early voting has been expanded to the Monday before Election Day at both locations for the first time. Michigan law gives municipalities the option to expand beyond the minimum 9 days of early voting in a partisan election.
Lansing citizens will be voting on the Primary Election ballot which includes eight proposals. The candidates for Governor, US Senate, US House, State Senate, and State House from each party who win their races will go on to the General Election.
