Lansing Economic Development Corporation Releases its 2025 Annual Report

Lansing, MI – Lansing Economic Development Corporation (Lansing EDC) serves as a bridge between the public and private sectors to foster strategic, sustainable, and equitable economic growth. In 2025, that work translated into real, measurable results.

“The 2025 annual report reflects not just a series of successful projects, but a clear trajectory for Lansing’s future,” said Lansing EDC Board Chair Shelley Davis Boyd. “From major investments to neighborhood revitalization and support for entrepreneurs, we are seeing the impact of our commitment to shared prosperity and thoughtful approach to economic development.”

The Lansing EDC assisted five major development projects in securing financial support and incentive approvals, representing more than $100 million in new investment, 121 housing units, and 90 new jobs. These projects include the Turner North Development in Old Town, the Brick Row Redevelopment in the Stadium District, the 820 W. Miller neighborhood revitalization project, the Holmes & Pleasant Grove mixed-use development, and Niowave’s $65 million expansion of its medical isotope manufacturing facility.

Since 2018, Lansing EDC-supported projects now total more than $4.5 billion in investment and 3,500 jobs, underscoring the organization’s long-term impact.

“Lansing is a great place to invest, open or expand a business, build new housing, or create jobs and the Lansing EDC is at the forefront,” said Lansing Mayor Andy Schor. “By focusing on our corridors and business districts, as well as neighborhoods across Lansing, we can continue this incredible growth for our residents.”

Beyond large-scale development, Lansing EDC strengthened the city’s small business ecosystem. The organization provided $80,000 in microloan funding in 2025 and supported more than 70 local businesses through its Retention, Expansion, and Attraction Program. The Facade Improvement Program awarded grants to 19 businesses, leveraging $270,695 in

funding commitments and securing an additional $500,000 from state partners to continue corridor reinvestment.

Through the Lansing Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, Tax Increment Financing Authority, and four Corridor Improvement Authorities, Lansing EDC deployed critical financing tools to unlock redevelopment potential and strengthen commercial districts citywide.

Capacity-building efforts also expanded. The Empower Program supported 11 business owners, and the inaugural SEED Academy trained 20 emerging developers who are collectively advancing nearly $20 million in anticipated projects.

The 2025 Annual Report reflects disciplined strategy, strong partnerships, and forward-looking leadership. As Lansing continues to grow, Lansing EDC remains focused on building a stronger economy and better community for all.
