Lugnuts Struggle in June and July Might be Just as Challenging;  White, Kuroda‑Grauer & Nankil Lead Charge

LANSING, MI – At the halfway point of the 2025 season, the Lugnuts sit  at 47-40, seven games above .500. They went 13-12 in June and have   started July strong at 7-5.  

Pitching Highlights 

Corey Avant (#32, RHP) struck out 8 in a no-decision on June 21. Grant   Judkins (#22, RHP) started five games in June, going 3-1 with 21   strikeouts; in July, he’s 1-1 with 13 Ks. Jake Garland (#45, RHP) was   solid in June with a 2-0 record, 2.23 ERA, and 21 strikeouts. Wei-En Lin   (#14, LHP) went 0-1 in June (2.31 ERA, 12 Ks) and has impressed in   July with a 1-0 record, 1.29 ERA, and 9 strikeouts over 7 innings.

Offensive Leaders 

T.J. Schofield-Sam (#18, 1B) hit .337 and earned a promotion to  

Double-A Midland. Nate Nankil (#19, OF) is batting .319 and leads the   team with 42 RBIs. Tommy White (#23, 3B) leads the club with 10 home  runs.

Upcoming Schedule 

The Lugnuts host the first-place West Michigan Whitecaps for a three  game series this weekend. They’ll then hit the road for six games at   Lake County before wrapping up July at home against the Cedar  Rapids Kernels. Trailing West Michigan by 10.5 games, the Lugnuts  need a strong finish to stay in the race.
