EAST LANSING —For two weeks, a delegation from Michigan State University embarked on an international journey focused on education, sustainability, and cultural exchange. The trip, co-led by MSU representatives including Dr. Amy Radford-Popp, Dr. Mercy Okezue and Aaron Tucker, MSU School of Packaging Academic Advisor, marked Tucker’s meaningful return to Ghana, as well as a visit to Nigeria.
One of the highlights of the trip was Tuckers reconnection with longtime friend, Cyprus Nii Sackey, in Ghana. The mission was clear: to build together for the future—advancing community development, packaging education, and sustainable collaboration across borders.
As a student at MSU, Tucker visited Ghana and helped build a library as a summer exchange student two decades ago.
Tucker said his next goal to raise money to help furnish the library facililty with new chairs.
The trip was also supported by the MSU Office of Education Abroad and the MSU African Studies Center, led by Dr. Isaac Kalumbu.
