In a thrilling, high-scoring contest, the Lansing Lugnuts (9-7) were edged out by the Fort Wayne TinCaps, 15-14, on April 22 at Parkview Field. The game featured multiple lead changes and standout performances from both teams.
The Lugnuts showcased their offensive prowess with a four-run rally in the eighth inning, tying the game and setting the stage for a dramatic finish. Notably, Athletics’ No. 7 prospect Tommy White contributed with his first home run of the season, adding to Lansing’s offensive surge.

However, the TinCaps responded in the bottom of the ninth. After a hit-by-pitch and a single, Leo De Vries delivered a two-run, go-ahead triple, completing his first professional cycle with five hits and eight RBIs.
Despite a valiant effort in the top of the ninth, where Lansing managed to bring home a run and had the tying and winning runs in scoring position, TinCaps’ reliever Luis Germán secured his first save, sealing the victory for Fort Wayne.
The Lugnuts will look to rebound in their next matchup as they continue their series against the TinCaps.
