In front of a crowd of classmates, proud family members, devoted coaches, and longtime teachers, Waverly High School senior and all-state wrestler Victoria Carter officially signed her letter of intent to continue her wrestling career at Alma College.
The signing ceremony, held in the Waverly High School gymnasium, marked the culmination of years of hard work, discipline, and dedication for the standout student-athlete. A trailblazer on and off the mat, she made school history as one of Waverly’s most accomplished female wrestlers, earning all-state honors and becoming a respected leader in the wrestling community.

Known for her fierce takedowns, relentless drive, and sportsmanship, she has built a reputation not only as a top competitor but also as a role model for younger athletes, especially girls entering the sport.
Victoria Carter concluded her senior wrestling season at Waverly High School with a 31-8 record, placing sixth in the 170-pound weight class at the 2025 MHSAA Girls Wrestling State Championships . She made history as Waverly’s first three-time state qualifier and the first female wrestler from the school to win both district and regional titles
Alma College, a strong NCAA Division III wrestling program, has been building a reputation for developing top-tier talent, and her signing marks another win for the Scots. The college expressed excitement in welcoming her to the team, where she is expected to make an immediate impact.
