CLEVELAND, OH — FINAL: The Detroit Tigers keep their postseason alive, defeating the Guardians 6-3 and snapping a three-game skid in potential series clinchers.
Detroit broke it open with four runs in the 7th inning. Wenceel Pérez singled in two, then came around to score on a Riley Greene RBI single.
The Guardians answered with two runs in the 8th after a throwing error by reliever Will Vest, but he settled down and retired the side in the 9th to lock down the win.
With the victory, the Tigers continue their pursuit of a World Series Championship, and now advance to face the Seattle Mariners in a best-of-five showdown.
