Matt Becker Adds National Wrestling Title to Storied Career

LANSING, MI — Matt Becker, a celebrated member of Sexton High School’s Hall of Fame and a key part of the school’s 1987 State Champion Wrestling Team, has once again made headlines—this time on the national stage.

Competing in Las Vegas at the 2025 CLAW US Open, hosted by USA Wrestling, Becker claimed the Masters Division D 70kg Freestyle National Title, proving that his passion and talent for wrestling remain as strong as ever.

Becker, who was inducted into the Sexton Hall of Fame for his achievements as a high school athlete, has continued to represent his roots with pride. His latest victory places him among the elite in his age division and highlights a lifelong dedication to the sport.

The CLAW US Open is one of the premier events on the USA Wrestling calendar, drawing top athletes from across the country to compete in various divisions and styles.
