Lansing Catholic Central downed by Portland Raiders 51-44, Lady Raiders stay unbeaten at home

The Portland Lady Raiders were looking forward to a rematch with the defending State Champion D2 No. 10 Lansing Catholic Central Lady Cougars at home on Tuesday night.

They practiced, they worked hard and they were on a six game wining streak heading into their second meeting with Lansing Catholic Central. The Lady Raiders wanted some payback, and to prove they could take them down. The defending champions were the only team who had beat them on the hardwood thus far.

Things were going good for the Lady Raiders in the first quarter.

At the start of the game the Lady Raiders jumped to a quick start and they never looked back.

The Lady Cougars (11-5), (5-1) were handed a 61-44 loss on the road by the Lady Raiders (15-1), (5-1). The win for the Lady Raiders extended their winning streak to seven in a row and are undefeated at home with six home game wins this season.

Next up for the Lady Raiders is match with Eaton Rapids at home on Friday with a 7 p.m. tipoff.

Lansing Catholic Lady Cougars will stay on the road with a match against Lakewood on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
