Haslett Lady Vikings pick up frustrating loss to Detroit Country Day

By RAUL GARCIA JR | Lansing News Wire

The Lady Vikings were hot heading into their match up with Detroit Country Day on Wednesday night in Detroit. Senior Captain Jadelyn Trotter and company were holding on to an eight game winning streak, and were looking to add another W to their record.

Their plan seemed to be going in their favor from the start of the tip off.

They cruised to a 13 point lead by the end of the first quarter. It looked like Detroit Country Day Lady Yellowjakets had no answer for the Lady Vikings offensive attack.

After the Vikings put up 22 points in the first quarter, it would be the Yellowjakets who would put up 20 points in the second quarter, and held the Vikings to 9 points. The Yellowjakets would tighten their defensive grip on the Vikings and slowed their offensive attack.

Detroit Country Day would go on and hold Haslett to 13 points in the second half, and went on to win 44-64.

Scoring for the Lady Vikings were  Jadelyn Trotter, 13; Christina Dixon, 10; D. Cleveland,6; Kaitlyn Johnson, 10; Alexis Turner, 4; Calista Blue, 1.

Next up for the Vikings (10-4), (5-1) is a matchup with Fowlerville (6-7), (2-4) at home on Friday at 7 p.m.
