One of Mid-Michigan’s most vibrant cultural traditions is back as Cristo Rey Fiesta 2025 returns for its 46th year over Memorial Day Weekend, May 23–25, on the church grounds at 201 W. Miller Road in Lansing.
Known as the largest Latino festival in Mid-Michigan, the three-day celebration draws thousands of attendees each year to enjoy an authentic taste of Mexican culture, cuisine, music, and community. Hosted by Cristo Rey Church, the Fiesta is both a cultural cornerstone and the parish’s largest annual fundraiser.
This year’s event promises a full menu of authentic Mexican dishes, including chicken gorditas, street tacos (pork and asada), fajitas, barbacoa tacos (cheek meat), menudo, nachos, rice and beans, and more. Attendees can also enjoy domestic and imported beverages from the popular Garden Tent, along with soft drinks and pizza.
The entertainment lineup includes traditional music and dance performances, showcasing folkloric groups and live acts that reflect the rich heritage of Latin America. Visitors can also explore the “Mercado,” a marketplace offering traditional clothing, handmade crafts, and cultural items representing the many Latino cultures in the Greater Lansing area.
Children and families will enjoy the return of the Mason Rail Time Adventures Carnival, and community organizations and local businesses will be on site with informational booths and resources.
A highlight of the Fiesta will be the Salute to Veterans Ceremony, held on Sunday, May 25, immediately following Mass. The event honors the memory of fallen service members and recognizes the dedication of those who have served in the military and public safety.
Since its founding in 1979, the Cristo Rey Fiesta has not only celebrated cultural identity but also helped the church serve the broader community through programs like housing assistance, food distribution, senior meals, holiday baskets, and health services—available to all regardless of religious affiliation.
