Special to The Lansing News Wire
Fiesta 2024’ will take place on Memorial Day Weekend, May 24, 25, and 26, 2024 on the church grounds. Fiesta 2024 will continue to feature authentic Mexican cuisine, the best traditional music and dance performances, and our “MERCADO” (marketplace) which offers traditional costumes, arts and crafts from the various Latin American countries represented in our community. Additionally, as we have done in the past few years, we will continue the tradition of honoring the memory of our fallen heroes and to salute those who have served our military and those who are serving in public safety. This special ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 26th right after the Mass.
Since 1979 Cristo Rey Fiesta has been a major fundraiser for Cristo Rey Church. The net proceeds from the fiesta support our building fund, infrastructure, and community directed services to anyone without regard to church affiliation. These services include but are not limited to: Food Distribution, Homeless and Housing Assistance, Senior Citizen Program, Thanksgiving baskets and Giving Tree, and Youth Programs. Additionally, we support an Annual Health Fair, two blood drives annually, a bilingual Alcoholic Anonymous Group, the Mobil Food Bank, and an annual Diaper Drive, plus many day-to-day referrals to other community service agencies.
We continue to thank our sponsors who year after year make this possible. And in an incredibly unique way our fiesta volunteers, who cook and serve our food and who work tirelessly to make our guests welcome. They are the most important pieces in the success of this annual community event.
ABOUT CRISTO REY CHURCH FIESTA
